We are looking to recruit a Trainee Plant Fitter for Weston Logistics. You will be mentored and supported by 3 other experienced Plant Fitters.

 

On our structured career development programme you will start by studying the NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance before progressing onto an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plant Maintenance.

 

The programme will be 3 years, during this time you will be required to study in blocks which will fully expensed including overnight stay and meals in a facility in Bircham Newton, Norfolk. You will benefit from focused and intense periods of learning and will be able to put your theory and practical learnings into real life work situations on your return from college.

 

As a Trainee Plant Fitter your typical day will be:

 

  • Assist with the maintenance of plant vehicles as required

  • Identify defective or worn mechanical components or equipment and repair or replace the worn or faulty components or equipment;

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns with another Plant fitter

  • Carry out Emergency maintenance tasks and/or repairs;

  • Produce reports on all works and repairs needed, PDI’s, service reports etc;

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Natural ability to problem solve

  • Good communicator

  • Incredibly observant and meticulous

  • Happy to be outdoors working in all weathers

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a mechanically related field (advantageous)

  • Enthusiastic and genuine interest in a mechanical role within Plant Machinery / Construction

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade 5 +

 

Selection Process

Successful candidates will be required to attend interview and a short technical assessment which will be circa 2-3 hours.
