Weston Logistics are rapidly expanding and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a HGV Class 1 General Haulage Driver.  The successful candidate will operate a company vehicle for the effective and timely collections and/or deliveries of plant, equipment, machinery, materials and anything else relating to the operational needs of the business, to customers sites and distribution centres.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure the safe, timely and secure (un)loading of plant and materials to correct procedures;

  • Ensure materials and plant supplied to customers is in good condition prior to loading and after unloading;

  • Work in a safe manner, complying with all health and safety regulations;

  • Complete paperwork accurately and in accordance with correct procedures

  • Plan best possible driving routes prior to setting off to meet deadlines;

  • Drive the vehicle in accordance with relevant laws, tachograph laws and driver hours limits;

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles and driving cab;

  • Be fully aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT;

  • Assist in the accurate picking and secure packaging of products for dispatch;

  • To work effectively part of a team and to motivate team members;

  • Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency;

  • To carry out any tasks or duties as required for the effective operation of the Company.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) licence, to a minimum Category C licence.

  • Digital tachograph driver smart card.

  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Qualification (Driver CPC).

  • Medical certificate.

  • CSCS card.

  • Competent in the loading and unloading of materials and plant equipment

  • Physically fit.

  • Ability to plan and organise work.

  • Excellent communication skills .

  • Competent use of relevant software: including WMS, Gmail and Google Apps.
