Weston Logistics part of the Weston Group are rapidly growing and are now looking to recruit a Manufacturing/Assembly Supervisor. The successful candidates’ duties will be to organise and monitor the workflow on the Factory floor, whilst looking to improve employee efficiency to maximise quality, productivity and control costs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing a Continuous Improvement Culture environment (eg Housekeeping 5S, Standard Operations)

  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the machining and assembly department and related operational decisions to enhance quality, safety and efficiency

  • Working to production schedule and ensuring targets are met

  • Ensuring that products are made correctly to technical specifications, carrying quality audits on each stage of manufacturing

  • Managing and organising work for teams and individual staff

  • Overseeing components stock and creating stock request forms

  • Leading daily team manufacturing meetings

  • Ensuing that products are made to the highest quality and company standards

  • Overseeing work load, controlling overtime, monitoring staff attendance and performance

  • Monitor and report department’s output

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety guidelines

  • Any other duties commensurate with the position as required  

Skills/Experience:

  • Leadership and delegation

  • Proven work experience of a similar supervisory position.

  • Effective knowledge in production and assembly procedures.

  • Ability to work and make decisions under pressure.

  • Ability to problem solve effectively.

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

  • Excellent organisation and efficient time-management skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Computer literate

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
